ACSOM: A CELTIC FAN COMMUNITY LIKE NO OTHER, THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!

Unlike the Celtic Board, neither I, nor indeed any of the team here at ACSOM are prone to self-congratulatory statements or shouts of “hey, look at us!”
However, last week, as ACSOM become one of only 8 football podcasts to be inducted into the Football Content Awards Hall of Fame, I cannot deny, we all felt a great sense of pride and accomplishment.
So, I hope you'll forgive me if this post, perhaps, seems a wee bit self-indulgent.
On behalf of everyone at ACSOM, we just want to say thank you. Without all of you, the historic recognition that ACSOM achieved at last week’s Football Content Awards could not have been possible.
ACSOM Inducted into FCA Hall of Fame, as Global Reach of Celtic Fan Base Recognized
It’s fair to say that ACSOM has come a long way since founder Paul John Dykes and his friend Kevin Graham sat down for the first time in 2017 to record a podcast talking about the football club we all love.
Since then, ACSOM has won 7 different awards at the Football Content Awards, and our community has grown to be a truly global force.
I mean, I live in Japan, and I’m not even the furthest flung member of the regular ACSOM contributor team. That distinction goes to our comrades down in Australia and New Zealand.
ACSOM stands today as more than just a football news and chat bulletin. We also branch out into other areas that our listeners might be interested in. Music, film, politics, and more. These all form an integral part of the daily discussions we have on the ACSOM Bulletin.
Perhaps the biggest testament to this diversity among our listeners is the huge turnout the late, great Mani received when he appeared at an ACSOM event just a few short months before his untimely passing.

It's not just our hobbies and interests that make ACSOM's viewers so diverse, we've even conquered language barriers together.
I had the distinct honor and pleasure to be part of our first ever ACSOM episode in a foreign language, when we did an episode aimed entirely at our Japanese supporters a couple of years ago.
However, ACSOM’s achievements, which culminated in last week's historic award go far beyond such individual milestones.
Thanks to all of you, the Celtic fans, and your tremendous generosity, we’ve managed to raise well over £100,000 for a host of worthwhile charities over the years.
Almost every week, at least one of us in the ACSOM group will share an anecdote about a message we received, or a comment posted to us, telling us the positive impact our fan community has had.
For some, they say it kept them sane during the dark times of Covid lockdowns.
Others tell more personal stories. Maybe a sick relative has had their spirits raised by listening to the show while recuperating, or someone who, for whatever reason, feels alone and in despair, may listen to our wee show and say that’s it helped them get through those tough times.
As I said in the beginning and I will say it again in closing this article. Thank you to all of you. In a time when Celtic’s own Board seem to have forgotten the principles on which our great club were founded, and the need to communicate respectfully and clearly with supporters, rest assured that ACSOM will continue to do so, for many, many years to come.
We may not always agree, but we will always be there for you, just as you all have always been there for us.
