CELTIC BOARD TURN A BLIND EYE AS YOUNG FAN BRUTALIZED, AGAIN!

Once again a Celtic fan was manhandled. Once again, The Board says nothing.
Once again a Celtic fan was manhandled. Once again, The Board says nothing.

I’ll be honest, being in Japan, we tend to sometimes forget Christmas is even a major event.

Most people go to work as usual; the shops are all open, and any requests for double time will be laughed out of the room!

Nonetheless, Merry Christmas to all our readers, as of ten minutes ago, at time of writing, it is Christmas Day here in Japan.

Still, I had hoped that the notion of peace and goodwill to all men might have rubbed off on Celtic. It seems our board didn’t agree.

And yet, thanks to the latest in an ongoing and completely unacceptable line of attacks on Celtic fans, once again, the silence from the Celtic Board is utterly deafening.

Celtic Board Remain Silent as Stormtrooper Stewards Continue Bully Boy Tactics

Most psychologists will tell you that bullies or indeed anyone with a penchant for physical or verbal abuse, usually follow a pattern. Abuse is a learned behavior, and to condone or ignore it, is to encourage it.

That’s exactly what the Celtic Board’s silence is doing at the moment. Whilst we still await any actual evidence of the physical assaults allegedly made on Celtic staff and police by the Green Brigade, for the second time this season we have irrefutable video evidence of overzealous cowards in steward’s jackets treating a young Celtic fan in a way that they wouldn’t dare treat an adult.

For those who haven’t seen the footage, in the aftermath of James Forrest’s crucial 3rd goal at the weekend, a young fan, caught up in the moment, ended up on the sidelines. He did not try to invade the pitch as some have claimed. He was a young boy caught up in the moment of his team enjoying a win. A win, that, thanks to the incompetence of our board, has become something of a rarity in recent weeks.

Does it really take three grown men to subdue one adolescent?

Is it really necessary to drag the kid away crying?

Apparently, the Celtic Board seem to think it is.

Such is the way of the coward; such is the way of the abuser. They would run a mile if actually confronted by someone who was their physical equal.

Grabbing kids and dragging them away screaming is, apparently fair game though.

And I’ll say once again for the hard of thinking, yes, the boy shouldn’t have been where he was. That does not however justify the totally over the top assault, and yes, I will call it assault, carried out by these thugs in fluorescent jackets.

Taken in tandem with everything else that’s happened this season, the Celtic Board only reacting to condemn our own, along with their media lapdogs doing their best to invent trouble where none exists (see “knifegate”), you can’t blame some Celtic fans for thinking that this entire pattern of behavior is a manufactured form of provocation.

I am not there yet, but I can certainly see why some fans have taken that view.

Christmas is supposed to be the season of goodwill. I think the Celtic Board didn’t get the memo on that one.
