CELTIC FANS WANTED A REACTION AND WE GOT IT

Reo Hatate was my Man of the Match today.
Reo Hatate was my Man of the Match today.

I wrote yesterday of my concerns, and those of several other Celtic fans about the apparent disconnect between the players and the manager.

Well, I’m glad to say that Celtic today reacted exactly as I and indeed all Celtic fans hoped they would.

That was truly a performance worthy of Champions. It was the antithesis of last week's laboured and sluggish showing in every way.

Celtic Give Fans a Five Star Performance

I said before today’s game that I expected changes, and Brendan Rodgers delivered. Greg Taylor, James Forrest, Liam Scales and Adam Idah all came in.

Each of them played their part, as the team surged to a 5-1 victory.

I was especially pleased to see Alastair Johnston turn in such a great performance. He had a hand in a few of the goals and looked back to his best.

Reo Hatate also answered the call, with 2 goals, and in my opinion a man of the match performance.

Although he didn’t score today, Adam Idah, in my opinion contributed a great deal. His effort and application was flawless.

His running was excellent as was his work rate.

It didn’t quite pay off for him today, but, as I said, he put in a good shift and I hope he gets his due credit.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, in the unlikely event that you read this, I’m sorry. I criticized you yesterday, and you responded with a goal of the season contender.

To use Glasgow parlance: “that’s me telt!”

Greg Taylor also gave a commanding performance today. We still don’t know where he’ll end up next season, though I think it’s safe to say it won’t be Rangers!

In any case, he was also a contender for man of the match today. He stepped up when needed, and wherever he goes next, we should be thankful for all the effort he has given and continues to give to Celtic.

Special mention should also go to James Forrest. It’s not easy to come into a team after a long absence and lift the mood after a defeat. However, Forrest did just that. He was a commanding presence in attack, and linked up well in the attack.

Above all else, particularly in the first half, Celtic were clinical. We seemed like, every time we ventured forward, we could score. It was great to watch, and it will give us all confidence for the Cup Semi next week, and the remaining five league games.

By the time you read this, we may well already be Champions (C’mon Aberdeen!) but if not, we know its just a matter of time.

Celtic reminded us today why they are the best in Scotland.
