AUSTON TRUSTY CLEARED OF “ JACK BUTLAND GBH”, AS ANOTHER HILARIOUS RANGERS MELTDOWN ENSUES

The Bears are not a happy bunch right now!

It’s not very often you’ll find Celtic fans agreeing with referees, but after watching the latest edition of The SFA’s VAR Review on YouTube, it was somewhat vindicating for the Celtic support and the appropriate distain and hilarity with which we responded to the latest Rangers Meltdown.

Suffice to say, our friends down Ibrox way have not taken the news well.

Rangers demands for meetings and further explanations from the SFA have ultimately been met with the short shrift that, frankly, they deserved from the start. They’ve been well and truly put in their place.

As that great poet, scholar and Celtic man, Greg Taylor, famously once said: “shut yer hole fatboy!”

Both Auston Trusty’s yellow card and the red card for Rangers midfielder Thelo Aasgaard were fully validated, and explained in detail, during the course of head of refereeing Willie Collum’s latest show.

Also, although I still don’t agree with it personally, the rationale behind the penalty decision against Tony Ralston is explained in a way that, at least, makes some sense, as is the rage-inducing (for the Ibrox denizens at least) decision not to red card him.

Also, bonus points to referee Nick Walsh for his response to the protestations of Rangers captain James Tavernier: “That’s the laws of the game. If you don’t understand them, that’s not my problem!”

I hope Mr. Walsh’s sudden onset of honesty and integrity hasn’t jeopardized his current role as a coach for Rangers’ youth players. He seems (based on this comment anyway) like exactly the kind of fine, upstanding gentleman that these young men should look to for future guidance and inspiration!

Jokes aside, the entire VAR show is basically one massive round of “shut up and know your place” directed at Rangers, and their seemingly endless tantrums, statements and general petulance whenever they fail to win a match.

I can only speculate as to why the SFA seem to have suddenly, after all these years, finally developed a spine, in the face of yet another Rangers Meltdown. However, this is undoubtedly a welcome development.

I have my doubts as to whether it will continue, but in the meantime, with no Celtic game to watch this weekend, and ongoing speculation about the next manager still creating uncertainty, let’s at least sit back for a minute and have a good old laugh at Rangers and their fans’ latest moan and groan.

They really are an angry, self-righteous, but ultimately rather ignorant bunch.

I blame the schools...
