DERMOT DESMOND, JEFFREY EPSTEIN AND THE SICK OBESSSIONS OF SCOTLAND’S SHAME

It’s a sad reality of supporting Celtic, and one that becomes all the more apparent when you write a publicly available blog about the club, that some fans of our reincarnated rivals have a sick, and deeply disturbing obsession with child abuse.
Not only this, but they won’t hesitate to weaponization this fixation whenever they feel they’re losing an online argument with, or see something objectionable written by, a Celtic fan. Some elements of our tabloid press are just as bad in this regard.
So, I was sickened, but not in the least bit surprised to see one of these deranged individuals (who definitely needs his hard drive checked by Police Scotland IMO) gleefully sharing claims that Celtic’s largest shareholder (not our owner) Dermott Desmond, Jeffrey Epstein and others are named together in the now infamous Epstein files.
However, unlike a certain other elderly megalomaniac drunk on his own power, there is no evidence whatsoever that Mr. Desmond ever visited Epstein’s Island or partook in any of the disgusting abuses that were perpetrated there.

The apparent smoking gun that twitter user, Adam Dunn (Perhaps that’s rhyming slang for the team he supports, I don’t know) thinks he has found, is of course, nothing of the sort.
Dermot Desmond had no direct correspondence with Epstein, with his name only mentioned in passing by others more directly connected to the disgraced, and thankfully dead, serial child abuser. Of the tens of thousands of names quoted in the files, Dermot Desmond shows up a grand total of twice. Of more than 3 million pages of documents, Desmond’s name is mentioned, passively, on a mere two occasions
To be honest, I debated about whether or not this was even worth covering. However, as I said, given the sick, deranged obsession that these people seem to have, whilst, naturally, feigning outrage, but not showing a shred of consideration for the victims, I think they need to be named and shamed.
One thing that is noteworthy in these disclosures, and it’s something that, as we would expect, has flown right over the heads of the ignorant rabble currently sharing this online, is that, any business that Dermot Desmond or his many affiliated companies, investment vehicles and so on did with companies connected to Epstein, took place in 2010 (according to the newly released documents).
This is two years after Epstein’s first conviction for his numerous crimes against minors. Again, I’ll emphasize, Dermot Desmond has done nothing illegal here. However, it is, at best, very poor judgement, and lack of due care and attention, to allow yourself to be associated, even passively, with a beast like Epstein, especially a full 2 years after he’s been convicted and jailed.
Again, he’s not broken the law, but there’s definitely a strong moral argument and a question to be asked as to why Desmond allowed himself and his money to be even loosely, tangentially connected to this horrific mess.
I’ll emphasize again, no crime was committed by Mr. Desmond. But I believe, at the very least, he owes the public, and the Celtic support, who he claims to love and isn't slow to claim to speak for (when it suits him), an explanation on all this.
I fully expect to see plenty of the usual suspects among the very worst elements of the Rangers support doing their very best to try and milk this absolute non-story for all the hate-fueled, obsessive traction they can get.
And as usual, they won’t give a damn about the thousands of real victims of Epstein, or the actual criminals involved with him, like Donald Trump and Andrew Mountbatten. No, even acknowledging the horrific crimes perpetrated by those they align with politically isn’t in keeping with their “staunch” way of doing things. They really are Scotland's Shame.
