THE S*N CELTIC FAN STORY TAKES SELECTIVE VISION TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL

There are few certainties in life. Apart from, maybe, death, taxes and penalties to Rangers.
There is one more though, if you read the Scottish Press.
It’s The S*n doing all they possibly can to try and drag Celtic into any situation where Rangers and their fans disgrace themselves yet again.
However, even by their rock bottom standards, this morning’s headline was a jaw-dropper.
As I said in my post-match commentary yesterday, there was a veritable smorgasbord of stupidity, criminality, racism and bigotry to choose from when assessing the behavior of the home support at yesterday’s Glasgow Derby.
The S*n Celtic Fan Story: A Disgraceful Attempt at Deflection and Distraction from Scotland’s Shame
So, which did The S*n go for? The tifo advocating gun violence? Nah, that would be too obvious.
Well, then how about the bottles and other missiles being thrown at Celtic players and staff? No, that’s not what their readers want to see.
Racist Chanting? Ok, I’m probably naïve for even suggesting any Scottish mainstream media outlet would have the integrity to touch that one.
No, The S*n chose to ignore all of the above and instead devote an entire article to ONE Celtic fan’s gestures towards the home support.

Apparently, the individual made two number 6 gestures towards the Rangers support, in reference to the 66 fans who died in the Ibrox Disaster.
Now, I am not for one second defending the actions of this individual.
If, as The S*n claims, he was mocking the Ibrox Disaster, a tragedy in which my own father lost two of his friends, then the person in question should never be allowed anywhere near Celtic Park again.
I trust that Celtic will fully investigate the allegations and if indeed this person did as The S*n claims, ban him for life.
That being said, it’s The S*n we are talking about here. They plenty of previous form for selective editing to create the narrative they want, just ask the good people of Liverpool about that one.
Like I said though, if its true then I have no sympathy for the moron who did this whatsoever.
However, let’s at least have some semblance of balance here, shall we?
One idiot making a stupid and ghoulish gesture about a tragedy is not on the same level as an entire stand threating violence on the Celtic support, or 40,000 plus fans singing proudly about being “up to their knees in Fenian blood.”
And don’t even get me started on the bottles of Bucky flung towards Viljami Sinisalo.
This is a blatant, and utterly pathetic attempt at playing the “both as bad as each other” card. Rangers’ fans utterly disgraced themselves yesterday, and that needs to have serious repercussions.
Even their own board, to a limited and somewhat toothless degree, came out and condemned at least some of the behavior yesterday.
But that’s not on the agenda for the ever-loyal Scottish S*n. Journalistic integrity doesn’t matter. It’s all about appeasement of one club and the worst elements of its fan base.
Don’t buy The S*n
