WITH INEPT CELTIC TITLE PARTY RESPONSE, SWINNEY PUTS HIS FOOT IN IT AGAIN

I won’t name names, but when I look at some of the absolute idiots in command of some of the world’s most influential political offices these days, I despair.
Unfortunately, and as a previous SNP voter I take no pleasure in saying this, with his latest outburst of utter ignorance, it seems John Swinney joins the ranks of these other buffoons, unfit to manage the proverbial “p*ss up at a brewery”, let alone an entire country.
Comparing Celtic Title Party to Aberdeen Thuggery is a Step Too Far
Swinney spoke of unacceptable behavior by “football fans” over the course of last weekend. He then made specific reference to the Trongate Celtic Title Party and the vicious assault of an Aberdeen player by one of his own fans.
Even the passive suggestion that these two events are in any way alike is nothing short of disgusting.
People getting a bit rowdy after a few too many drinks, during a celebration, and thugs going out of their way to directly attack one of their own players are completely and utterly incomparable.
In total 9 people were arrested in and around the Trongate over the weekend. That is a, frankly, infinitesimally small number when you see how many people were there.
I’ll go ahead right now and predict that The Trnsmt Music Festival, scheduled for July in Glasgow Green will see more arrests, far more public disorder and yet will receive little if any press coverage.
It certainly won’t draw a response from the utter coward who currently occupies the office of First Minister of Scotland.
For context, over 40 people were arrested over the course of Trnsmt last summer, including one charge of attempted murder.
Swinney also completely failed to even acknowledge the negligence of Glasgow City Council in allowing an Orange Walk in the same area of Glasgow on Saturday.
The footage of that event clearly shows dozens of bottles and cans being thrown at Celtic supporters from “followers” of the march.

I can’t say for sure how many it was, but from the footage I have seen, if the Police Scotland did their jobs properly there would have been a whole lot more than 9 arrests at that particular flashpoint.
As a side note, merely drinking alcohol in the street in Glasgow is, supposedly, a criminal offence, let alone throwing the bottles and cans at passers-by afterwards.
But no, sectarian hate parades aren’t the problem. Allowing working class football fans to drink in designated pubs and bars, and allowing them to later gather in public to celebrate is the problem, according to our politicians and our press.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I really don’t get what Swinney and his party hope to achieve here. The staunch brigade they refuse to condemn will never vote for them.
A number of Celtic supporters still might, but every time they throw us under the bus to appease the bigots that number dwindles ever more.
Meanwhile, since no one in the mainstream media has bothered to say it, I will. To those Celtic fans who stayed back to help with clean-up after the street party, thank you.
Your efforts didn’t go unnoticed; the press just chose to ignore them because it doesn’t fit their narrative of choice.
