ALLY MCCOIST COMPARES ANGE POSTECOGLOU TO DAVIDE ANCELOTTI, CELTIC SUPPORTERS KNOW THIS IS NONSENSE

So, according to one of Rangers’ staunchest media cheerleaders, Ange Postegoclou’s success at Celtic proves that Davide Ancelotti would be the perfect appointment for Rangers as their new boss.
Speaking on the verbal vomitorium that is Talk Sport, Ally McCoist said, comparing the two managers:
“Every appointment is a gamble. I think it's difficult to pre-judge because effectively we don't know.
"With the greatest respect big Ange coming to Celtic ... and he was a massive success so really you don't know. "
Celtic Fans Know the Difference Between an Unknown Manager and an Unproven One
Here’s the thing though, anyone who actually bothered to look into Ange Postecoglou’s record prior to coming to Celtic would see that he had close to 25 years of experience, and a proven track record of success as a manager.
He had taken Australia to the World Cup, enjoyed league title success in Australia and Japan, and led Australia to their first ever Asian Cup win.
Davide Ancelotti has never managed any team at any level.
There is no comparison here.
Just because it happened in a country he isn’t familiar with, and involved teams he is ignorant of, doesn’t excuse McCoist’s blatant misrepresentation of facts here.
Ange Postecoglou was an internationally respected coach and manager with a proven track record across multiple countries.
With the greatest of respect to Ancelotti his current level of experience would barely warrant a position in Ange’s backroom staff.
McCoist is right about one thing. Every single appointment does indeed come with an element of risk.
However, that is hardly unique to football. This risk is the same in any line of work. It doesn’t matter how strong someone’s CV is. Until you actually see them in the job you won’t know if they are the right fit.

However, in terms of risk management, I think we all know who Celtic fans would rather have in charge of our team if we had to choose.
Not only was Ange Postecoglou a superb manager for Celtic, who gave us back our pride after a bruising 2020/21 campaign, but he did so playing some of the most exciting, dynamic and relentless football I’ve ever seen at Celtic Park.
Maybe someday Davide Ancelotti will become a great coach, just like his dad. But there is no evidence to suggest he’s there yet.
Hiring a 35-year-old totally unproven rookie is a massive risk, regardless of who his dad is.
Hiring a veteran manager in his 50s with a decades long proven track record of success is still a risk, but it’s a far, far less dangerous one.
McCoist’s comparison isn’t just idiotic, its insulting. It’s insulting to big Ange, it’s insulting to all the great teams he has managed, and Spurs.
It’s also an insult to the Celtic recruitment department, who had the sense to look outside the European football goldfish bowl to bring in a new man with new ideas, and who absolutely transformed our team’s fortunes.
While it is somewhat ironically funny that a team with as many freemasons among its support as Rangers might be about to appoint someone purely based on nepotism, it’s ultimately going to end badly, if it happens at all.
I know it, you know it, and deep down even the Rangers fans probably know it too.
