IT‘S OFFICIAL: WILFRIED NANCY HAS MADE AN A*SE OF IT

I try to avoid the fascist cesspool that is Twitter these days. However, much like the Scottish S*n, I am occasionally compelled to look at it so that you, dear readers, won’t have to.
Celtic’s manager Wilfried Nancy made a rare foray onto the Elon Musk owned social media platform to share his current state of mind.
For many Celtic Fans, the Venn Diagram he posted has us deeply concerned, both for the emotional fragility of our manager and the current state of his relationship with his players.
Wilfried Nancy Shares His Current State of Mind and Leaves Fans Even More Worried
As you’ll see from the image, it’s a simple diagram trying to put across the message that you should only focus on the elements of a problem that you can control.
A noble ideal to be sure, when taken in isolation.
The fact that I think the diagram looks like two round cheeks with a dark void in the middle, giving it the visage of a plump posterior, probably says more about my own dirty mind than anything going in in Wilfried Nancy’s head at the moment.
However, there’s no denying that this kind of random posting should give us all further cause for concern.
Is Wilfried Nancy already feeling so under pressure and isolated at Celtic Park that he’s taken to Twitter to vent his frustrations?
Exactly what is it that he feels is beyond his control? The results, the players’ attitudes, the alleged utter sh*tshow that is going on behind the scenes at Celtic right now at multiple levels?
Perhaps more importantly, we have to ask, what elements of this rapidly unfolding crisis does the manager still feel he can control?
The confirmation that Nancy only had a brief 15 minute chat with outgoing interim manager Martin O’Neill upon his protracted arrival at Celtic, was, in hindsight, the first major cause for alarm. Each result and each press conference since then, seems to have only confirmed this same hard-headed stubbornness.

In a way, it’s a kind of cruel irony. Celtic fans cried out for a change of formation, a refresh of the system, as we stagnated in the final days of Brendan Rodgers second spell.
Then Martin O’Neill came in and showed, with his trademarked pragmatism and supreme man-management skills, and showed that the 4-3-3 could work, if you used the players correctly.
Nancy has now come in and ripped that up completely, insisting that we play a back three when none of our players are ready for it.
Dare I say, if Martin O’Neill walked into the dressing room at Tannadice tonight, Mike Bassett-style and shouted “We’re playing 3, 4 f*cking 3!!” The players would do it, and we’d probably get a result.
But that kind of respect is something that Martin O’Neill has built up over 25 years of his association with Celtic. Wilfried Nancy hasn’t even been here 25 days yet. Putting it bluntly he hasn’t got the credit in the bank yet. No amount of pressroom bravado or alleged verbal confrontations with players and coaches behind the scenes can artificially manufacture that respect.
I hope we win tonight; I would never cheer any team playing against Celtic. However, whether its tomorrow, next week or next month, I think it’s clear that unless there’s a massive attitude adjustment from the manager, that in turn inspires a massive change in attitude from the players, this ship is sinking.
It’s all just a matter of time.
